Ryobi 18V One+ Dual Temperature Glue Gun P307

Jul 22, 2023Jul 22, 2023

Hot glue can be incredibly useful in a variety of different applications. Many hot glue guns limit how you can use them with one temperature setting and one applicator nozzle. Ryobi now has a hot glue gun that puts control over the application back in your hand. The Ryobi P307 Dual Temperature Hot Glue Gun has two working temperatures and a few nozzles to tailor your glue-ups to your particular job.

The new tool has three clear advantages. First, it lets you use glue sticks on more sensitive materials or sticks with lower melting temperatures. Second, it features an integrated drip tray. If only I had had that when I dropped hot glue on my finger last month! Lastly, it heats up in just 2 minutes.

Ryobi has been steadily improving their hot glue game for a few years now with the “meat and potatoes” P305 model and the P306 Compact Hot Glue Gun. But, the Ryobi P307 Dual Temp Glue Gun might be our new favorite.

The Ryobi Dual Temperature Glue Gun lets you select between two heat settings. The 248ºF setting is ideal for heat-sensitive materials, while the 320º setting works best for construction gluing.

And, if that wasn’t enough versatility for you, the Ryobi Dual Temperature Glue Gun also includes 3 nozzle tips for a variety of different applications: a standard tip, a precision tip, and a spreader tip.

At least in appearance, the Ryobi P307 resembles the older P305 model. However, it’s a little tough to actually compare the two models as Ryobi has chosen to remain ambiguous about the specs of the older model. They both operate on the same battery platform, and they both use full-size 1/2″ glue sticks. Other than that, we assume that the Ryobi Dual Temp Glue Gun offers a more refined approach.

The P306 Compact Glue Gun presents another option from the Ryobi stable of cordless glue guns. This one heats up a bit hotter, but you’re limited to one temperature. It also takes longer to heat up and uses mini glue sticks.

However, where the Ryobi Dual Temperature Glue Gun offers a more refined and versatile approach to hot glue, the P306 does have an extremely compact and portable system. It’s also about half the price of the P307.

The P307 Dual Temperature Glue Gun is slated for an April release. Like you’d expect, this Ryobi glue gun will be sold exclusively at Home Depot. It will come with a 3-year warranty and retail for $49.97 for the bare tool.
