Jul 20, 2023Jul 20, 2023

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

KYLIE MINOGUE – “TENSION”

Following the success of her summer banger “Padam,” Kylie Minogue heads into the fall with the title track off her upcoming album Tension.

TEEZO TOUCHDOWN – “YOU THOUGHT” (ft. JANELLE MONÁE)

Teezo Touchdown’s debut album How Do You Sleep At Night? comes out next week (9/8), and its latest single is pretty genuinely epic. It’s got rap parts, rock parts, soul parts, Janelle Monáe guest vocals–the works.

MAXO KREAM – “BONE CRUSHER” (ft. KEY GLOCK)

After debuting his new songs “Bone Crusher” and “Mo Murda” on Flight Club Fridays last week, Maxo Kream has now released the studio version of “Bone Crusher.” It samples/interpolates Bone Crusher’s classic “Never Scared” and features Key Glock, and it’s a real banger.

DEVENDRA BANHART – “NUN”

Devendra says his song “Nun” was actually written in a Nunnery in Northern Nepal. “It’s a simple metaphor: we can run to something, run for something, run out of something…an archetype with plenty of elasticity.” Devendra’s new album, Flying Wig, was produced by Cate Le Bon and will be out September 22.

PETER GABRIEL – “LOVE CAN HEAL”

Peter Gabriel is releasing his first album of new material in two decadessas singles released every month on the full moon. The Super Moon / Blue Moon edition is “Love Can Heal” which Gabriel has been playing live for a while. “‘Love Can Heal was written around 2016 and I did start playing it midway through the tour and dedicated it to Jo Cox, who was the British MP brutally murdered by an extremist and someone that I had met at a leadership conference,” says Gabriel. “I think the song fits right in to the themes of the album in the sense that i/o is about feeling and being connected to everything and in a way, the next evolution of being connected to things is a feeling of love for everything.’”
